The Shawnee Mission Surgery Center has an opening for a Registered Nurse on our Retina Eye Team. This position does not take call and is not scheduled on weekends and holidays. Experience working with a Retina Eye Team is required.

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates the efforts of the multidisciplinary treatment team for the patients under his/her care. S/he is accountable for patient assessment, planning of care, intervening as patient condition changes, and evaluating the care and treatments the patient is receiving to determine if the patient is achieving the expected outcomes. She is responsible for administration of medications and treatments, reviewing test results, and communicating with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure the highest quality patient care.*

Qualifications

OR Retina experience required.


REGISTERED NURSE- ONCOLOGY: FT, NIGHTS, 72 HRS PP

ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN: PT, DAYS, 48 HRS PP

The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for providing support to the activities of the Anesthesia Department, as well as the surgical Services Department. The areas of support include all task as assigned by designated members of the Anesthesia Department, in addition to Surgical Services support. The support provided by the anesthesia Technician is in the form of assisting with the Anesthesia care of the patient in the pre-op, intra-op, and immediate post-operative phases of care. He/She also assists in all technical phases of equipment handling and is responsible for reporting needs for special equipment and supplies to the designated CRNA and/or Acting Chief of Anesthesia. Previous Experience is Required, 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience Preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalent Required, Junior College/Technical College Preferred. CPR Certification Required. Anesthesia Tech Certification Preferred.*

This position is scheduled 8:30 am until 5:00 pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  This position does not work weekends.
