Position Description
Excellent opportunity to provide professional nursing care to patients in PAC-U area while utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). To collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians, to deliver quality health care. Operating Room RN

Registered Nurse Part time in Inpatient unit

Work Schedule: Night Shift - two 12 hour shifts

Surgical Technician
Department: Surgery
Work Type: Full Time
Work Schedule: Four (10 hour days)
Position Description
Excellent opportunity for a scrub tech who prepares operating room for surgical procedure by opening and maintaining sterile field using aseptic technique. Ensures proper instrumentation is available for procedure and that instruments are sterile and have not been compromised. Arranges sterile setup for surgical procedures, pass instruments, sponges and suture to surgeons and surgical assistants. Assists during surgery by holding retractors, cutting suture, and performs other tasks as directed by surgeon during procedure. Assists in cleanup of operating room. Checks and restocks operating room in preparation for the next procedure.
Job Requirements
Completion of technical school or Associate's degree. BLS Certification. Must possess the ability to use critical thinking skills to identify problems and opportunities. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Positively represents the department to internal and external customers. Must possess a level of analytical skills to identify patient needs and solve problems. Effectively prioritizes workload to meet deadlines. Must demonstrate competency and have the ability to administer medications to include controlled substances via all routes.
Work Experience
6 months experience as a surgical tech. Experience in a surgical facility/hospital preferred.
Certified Coders
• Analyzing doctors’ notes to decode what procedures were completed
• Submitting health claims to various insurance companies
• Ensuring that the medical office is properly reimbursed by insurance companies
Excellent Data Entry Skills
Must have CPT-4 and/or ICD-10 certifications; APPC, CPC, CCS, RHIT OR RHIA designation
Minimum of 3 years experience
