Job Description

 

Job Title:                  Screen Print Supervisor

Reports To:              Screen Print Manager

FLSA Status:            Exempt

Department:             Screen Print

 

 

Summary:  This position’s primary functions are to provide in-depth technical support and training to Screen Print Production and the Screen Room, identify and resolve quality related issues during production. This position directs, schedules, and supervises all Screen Print and Screen Room personnel ensuring quality and efficiency standards are being met

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

Provides technical support and training to Screen Print Production and Screen Room

Monitors progress of each individual and adjusts/retains where necessary

Continuously analyzes existing procedures to enhance quality and production.

Identifies and resolves quality related issues during production

Bears responsibility for all employees’ reviews

Assures associates comply with company attendance policies: keeps detailed records of each individual’s attendance and tardy records.

Maintains and understands departmental policies and procedures

Encourages and demonstrates high level of safety and promotes a clean and safe working environment

Staffs Screen Print Department according to unit plans and adjusts manpower as needed

Evaluates personnel vacation requests, making sure not to overbook too many vacations

Provides leadership for all employees

Provides regular informational meeting to the employees

Disciplines employees as necessary and develops employees for further responsibilities

Assists Engineer in time studies for new processes

Monitors equipment and personnel for efficiency and quality, seeking solutions to the root cause of issues

Monitors workflow levels from Production Planning, Screen Room, and Pulling

Maintains time and production and payroll records.

Provides technical support and training to Screen Print Production and Screen Room

Identifies and resolves quality related issues during production

Provides good and bad quality, illustrates the difference and communicates the reason for decision

Assist in the new hire process up to and including interviewing personnel for hire on assigned shift .

Leads by example, exhibits GEAR values; and assures others adhere to them

Complies to company attendance policies

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED; Minimum of 2 years Supervisor Experience in Manufacturing /Production Environment.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic math/ algebra.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software and Manufacturing software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises 25-30 employees in the Screen Print department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
